Thomas Daley is a leader’s coach. For the past 15 years he has been at the side of CEO’s and leaders at all levels of both corporate and governmental organizations, nationally and internationally.
Thomas started his career as an Archeological Conservator, studying in Rome, Italy, Zurich, Switzerland, and London, England and becoming the lead of the Wet Archeological Working Group part of the United Nations International Council of Museums. Sensing there was something else he needed to do with his life, Thomas moved across country to Canmore, Alberta where he brought the skills of building relationships with scientists around the world and creating synergies within diverse teams to bear as he turned to developing others, first as a career coach and then as an executive coach. Thomas led a Calgary TEC (The Executive Committee – an international association of CEO’s) with monthly skill-building and resource sharing, individual coaching, and bi-annual retreats. Thomas continually challenges the executives he coaches to stretch beyond their usual patterns and practices to reach excellence.
As a facilitator of learning experiences Thomas excels in creating communities that support and challenge participants’ thinking. Thomas skillfully balances participants’ previous learning, experiences and knowledge with the new material set to challenge their learning. He has created and led leadership development for CEO groups and corporations such as, Tech Coal, Sofina Foods, City of Prince George, PayPal, to list only a few. His motto is to create purposeful change through designing unique learning experiences that facilitate positive change by challenging thinking.
Thomas is a strong advocate of accountability and has implemented accountability structures with Hudson’s Bay Company, BHP Billiton, and others. Over several years, Thomas held annual strategic planning and team building retreats for numerous organizations both nationally and internationally as well as facilitated strategic planning with numerous public and private organizations.
Thomas holds many designations that allow him to delve deeper with clients. These include Leadership Effectiveness Analysis and Strategic Directions, Assessment for Leadership Potential, Emotional Intelligence (EQ 2.0), Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument, Meyers Briggs Type Indicator, as well as being a member of the International Coaches Federation, certified in Behavioural Event Interviewing and a Global Development Career Facilitator.
In his leisure time, Thomas is to be found, usually with his wife, cycling the local area or the south of France. He has participated in several distance races mountain biking, such as La Routa in Costa Rica and the Trans Rockies in Alberta.
